The definitions of different types of property are below:
DETACHED
Where the structure of the property isn't attached to any neighbouring properties i.e. House (space) House (space) or House-Garage (space) House-Garage (space).
LINK DETACHED
When the main structure of the property is only attached to garages at either side i.e. House-Garage-House-Garage-House-Garage or House-Garage-Garage-House.
As link detached is not an available property type for our policies we should select Detached. This ensures that the correct classification factors are applied to the policy.
SEMI-DETACHED
This is where the property is attached on one side to another i.e (space)-House-House-(space) or (Space)-Garage-House-House-Garage-(space).
TERRACED
Where more than 2 properties are attached side by side i.e. House-House-House-House. Whilst the properties on the end of the row will only be attached on one side, these are known as 'End Terrace' and should still be classified as Terraced properties.
