Kitchen/bathroom units and laminate flooring are generally fixed to the buildings and are therefore covered under buildings insurance. This includes easy-fit or 'click' laminate flooring which is often specifically cut and/or glued in place to fit the property dimensions.
Whilst in some cases laminate flooring can be uplifted and re-laid, it is often edged and held in place by beading, and its basic purpose is as a part of the building.
We would apply the same logic to Vinyl flooring.
However, carpets that can be lifted easily without damage and removable for re-use would be treated as part of the contents.
