If your client is an existing Paymentshield customer and is in the process of moving home, we can transfer their cover to their new home whilst ensuring they're still covered on their previous home whilst moving. However, your client must contact us to let us know about the move so that we can take some important details from them.
Provided the policyholder is legally responsible for both residential properties, we can hold like-for-like cover on both properties for a maximum of 30 days with no additional charge.
As soon as the client completes the move (or reaches the 30 days cover limit), cover on their previous property will cease and we'll only be covering the new property going forward. The client will need to call us back to remove any alternative correspondence address.
Please note that we can only do this for Buildings Only and Building and Contents cover.
If your client has a Contents only policy, then we can only amend the address when they class their new home as their permanent residence. It may be that they need to call back when they've moved into the new home (along with their belongings) to change the address on the policy.
