Our panel of insurers will continue to insure policyholders who let out their homes on an occasional basis for events such as The Open Championships, Wimbledon, Olympics etc without applying any additional terms to the cover.

 

However, it’s important to remember the standard exclusions and limitations set out in your policy.

 

Important buildings section exclusions:

- Malicious damage & theft - loss or damage caused by anyone lawfully in or within the grounds of your home

- Accidental damage - loss or damage if caused by a paying guest or tenant

 

Important contents section exclusions:

- Malicious damage & theft - loss or damage caused by anyone lawfully in or within the grounds of your home

- Theft - theft if you have lent or let any part of your home unless force or violence is used to enter or leave it -and- loss of money or the unauthorised use of credit cards unless force and violence has been used to enter your home

- Accidental damage - loss or damage caused by a paying guest or tenant -and- loss or damage whilst your home is being lent or let to any person other than your family.
