However, damage to your property will only be covered under the named perils listed in our terms and conditions and where the event was accidental or unexpected and not inevitable.

The removal of, or damage caused by Japanese Knotweed or any other invasive plant species that has occurred over a long period of time will not be covered as it would fall under the 'wear and tear' exclusion in the policy terms.

Where the presence of an invasive plant is detected, you should take the necessary steps to ensure it is removed or managed appropriately to minimise the risk of damage occurring.
