The definitions of different types of property are below:
DETACHED
Where the structure of the property isn't attached to any neighboring properties i.e. House (space) House (space) or House-Garage (space) House-Garage (space).
LINK DETACHED
LINK DETACHED
When the main structure of the property is only attached to garages at either side i.e. House-Garage-House-Garage-House-Garage or House-Garage-Garage-House.
As link detached is not an available property type for our policies we should select Detached. This ensures that the correct classification factors are applied to the policy.
SEMI DETACHED
SEMI DETACHED
This is where the property is attached on one side to another i.e (space)-House-House-(space) or (Space)-Garage-House-House-Garage-(space).
TERRACED
TERRACED
Where more than 2 properties are attached side by side i.e. House-House-House-House. Whilst the properties on the end of the row will only be attached on one side, these are known as 'End terrace' and should still be classified as Terraced properties.
