If your insured property is unoccupied we can continue to offer cover. However, if the property is unoccupied between 45 and 90 days, you must pay the unoccupancy excess shown on your policy certificate for the following risks:

- Riots, civil commotion, labour and political disturbances or strikes.
- Malicious damage or vandalism including malicious damage caused by tenants to the buildings.
- Escape of water from, or the freezing of water in washing machines, dishwashers or any fixed domestic water or heating installation.
- Escape of oil from any fixed domestic oil heating installation.
- Theft or attempted theft
- Accidental Breakage of Underground drains and pipes.
- Accidental damage to the locks of, or theft of the keys to the outside doors of, the insured property or to safes and alarms in the insured property.

If the insured property is unoccupied for more than 90 days, these risks are excluded.
